Simon Langton Girls' School have been busy public speaking and debating over the last few weeks.

In January, three girls claimed certificates at the Canterbury Youth Parliament as 12 schools came to debate across Kent.

Year 11 students retained the Nat West Cup as runners up in the ESU regional public speaking competition despite Ashford School, St Lawrence College and Folkestone School for Girls making for a highly competitive field.

Year 13 students competed at Kings in the unfamiliar parliamentary style and Eve Rowland took part in the prestigious ART-iculation event at the Quarterhouse in Folkestone.

Next term the Youth Speaks event takes place at BCGS and the debating society will support in a celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March.
