Rust sisters compete for Great Britain!

INVICTA ARTISTIC ROLLER SKATING CLUB - COMPETITION REPORT

Cup of Europe – 1st ,2nd, 3rd, November 2018, Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain

Artistic roller skating sisters Rosie Rust (17) and Kati Rust (14) were selected to compete for Great Britain at the 2018 Cup of Europe at the Fuengirola rink, Malaga, Spain from 1st – 3rd November 2018.

Kati, skating in her first year in the Cadet category (14-15 years), achieved an outstanding 12th place out of 18 in the compulsory dances and further improved by two places in her freedance to finish 10th overall. This was an outstanding achievement with the two other GB skaters finishing 14th and 17th.

Rosie, skating in the Youth category (16–17 years), gave a fantastic performance in the Federation Foxtrot and Kent Tango to secure 7th place after the compulsory dances with only the top Italian and Portuguese skaters ahead of her. She gave a superb performance in the freedance and comfortably retained her 7th place overall with the other two GB competitors finishing 17th and 19th in a strong international field.

Both girls are current British champions in their respective age groups. They train 4-5 days a week at Invicta ARSC, based in Faversham, Westgate–on-Sea and Herne Bay under the watchful eye of Head Coach Keith Marsh and Italian European Champion, former world number 2 and Britain’s Got Talent star, Alessandra Sain.

Rosie started skating with Invicta ARSC at the age of 7 and is already a 5 times solo dance British champion.

Kati started with Invicta at the of 5 and has been three times British and twice European couples champion, before adding the 2016 and 2018 British solo dance championships to her list of achievements.
