Student artwork selected for John Downton Awards
A huge congratulations to our three talented Year 12 students: Hannah, Eloise and Chiara whose work was selected for the prestigious John Downton Awards.
We are also very delighted to announce that Hannah received the Silver Award at the presentation evening at the County Gallery, County Hall, Maidstone last Tuesday. Well done to all of you!
The John Downton Award for Young Artists is an annual exhibition which encourages and celebrates the creativity of Kent's young artists. It is open to students, aged 11 to 18, from schools and colleges across Kent. The John Downton Awards were first organised in 2000 at the request of Miss Hilda Downton – sister of the celebrated Kentish artist, poet and philosopher, to recognise the achievements of the young artists of Kent in the fields of painting and drawing. The award is hosted by Kent County Council on behalf of the John Downton Trust.
