It’s been an exciting year so far for the U13 football team who have made it through to the final of the Kent Schools Cup!

We started off with a thrilling 10-1 win away to Ursuline and have carried on in a similar fashion throughout with goals galore, including two games where we scored 7 in each, and two games slotting 8 goals in each to get us through the rounds to where we are now, the Cup Final!

Our closest and most competitive game came in round two against a resilient Sir Roger Manwood’s School who managed to keep our firing squad at bay, coming away with just a 5-1 victory from there. Our captain Tia has been relentless in front of goal, scoring 23 goals across the 6 games thus far, hopefully this will continue into the final!

Our vice-captain Amelia has been on fine form at the other end of the pitch, a strong centre back who alongside centre back partner Amy, has been incredibly difficult to play through. They have been a brick wall in front of our commanding keeper Josie who has kept two clean sheets and been extremely vocal and encouraging to teammates from the back.

Each match has been a real team performance with our super subs being invaluable, as well as a few Year 7s who have stepped up to help cover some positions and have been superb. Several of the students have shown great progress in their football over the past few months as well as dedication to training and good sportsmanship throughout. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves and we look forward to taking on Buller’s Wood Girls’ School in the final, it is sure to be a fantastic game!

Further details, along with the date for the final will follow. Please keep a look out for the date!
