‘Inspirational’ Careers Education at Langton

We are very pleased to announce that the Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School has been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard from Investor in Careers. After a period of assessment, the school has been ‘nationally assessed as achieving the Quality in Careers Standard, fully meeting all the accreditation criteria incorporating the Gatsby Benchmarks’.

The Quality in Careers Standard offers learning providers external independent assessment and national accreditation of the quality of their careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) provision with focus upon its impact and outcomes for young people. Being awarded the Quality in Careers Standard confirms that the school is successfully providing an outstanding programme of CEIAG that satisfies national requirements and provides guidance that addresses the career development needs of all of our students.

Our final assessment report stated that ‘CEIAG provision is well established, inspirational, aspirational, progressive and varied’ and ‘there is an emphasis on supporting high aspirations and broadening horizons for all students’.

We are currently the only school or college in Canterbury, and one of only 12 schools and colleges across Kent, to hold the Quality in Careers Standard.
